Cidade de Biscuito

Olá! Ok, so I´m here in Marília!!!! The city of the cookie cracker!!! If you think I´m kidding, read it again. The biggest brand of cookie crackers in Brasil is here in Marília. In fact, the chaple is 2 blocks away from one of the factories. So there is a very sweet smell here.

Ok- business, I packed my bags last monday, and Tuesday morning, we went to the zone conference with all the zones in São Paulo. I saw a bunch of old companions!!! And then I saw a Sister standing alone with her parents, and I KNEW she would be my new companion, and she is! It turns out that she´s from Londrina!!!! She was serving in the Mission Brasil Vitória, but had some MAJOR problems with her knees. So she went home for 3 months to recover, and she´s serving one transfer in her home mission as a trial to see how she´s feeling.

And so this week started out great. But it´s reallllly hard for her! And I want so much to help her and to take away the pain, but there´s really nothing I can do.

But we found a family that´s less-active, and holyyyyyyy cow. Major spiritual experience. They are going through a ton of difficulties, and at one point, we went there and shared a scripture: Mosiah 2:41. And the mother, Rosemara, started crying. She told us that this is her answer. Of course the Lord won´t bless her because she´s been neglicting the commandments.

They came to church on Sunday. It was AWESOME!!!!!!!

When we got to church, we were talking to one of the counselor´s, and he told us. "ah, I have a suprise for you." RED ALERT!!!!!! " can one of you give the first talk today?" And my companion wasn´t feeling well, so guess who gave the first talk? Me :) And I played the piano.

The members here are GREAT!!! I love them. We jsut need to bring more people to church!!

Love ya all!!!
I´m out of time!

T.E.

Novidades!

So what does T. E. stand for? Not Tyler Eliason, nor Tanner Eliason. But......
TRANSFERÊNCIA EMERGÊNCIA!!!!!!

I got a call from the assistants this morning saying that I need to pack my bags and to bring them to our zone conference in Marília tomorrow. And there, I´ll receive "a surprise." WHAT?!! I just got here in Tupã!!! (Cidade do sol...) I´m kind of sad because I really love my companions. I don´t think I´ve ever laughed so hard in my life... :)  We´ve already gone through some hard times, and are super close (and small world- Elder Parker Ayer´s (old) companion knows my companion, Sister Dos Santos.)
But I´ve heard WONDERFUL things about Marília, so I´m kind of excited...

Anyways, lots of things happened this week.

Wednesday, after we worked all day, we came home, closed our numbers and were getting ready for bed. Sister Dos Santos opened her wardrobe to get her stuff to take a shower, and I heard a 30 second long and loud scream. Sister Sampaio and I ran to the bedroom to find her wardrobe infested with millions of ANTS!!! And not just little ants, but huge honkin´disgusting ants. Some black some red. And they were EVERYWHERE!!!!!! WE spent the next hour killing all the ants with out shoes and some spray deodorant.... ha. EWW No JENTO.

We found some really really good investigators - some teenagers who were interested. But on Sunday, when we went to pick them up, the grandmother of one lied to us, saying that she wasn´t there, and the other teenager got sick (but literally he was sick because he was taking some strong medicine because he broke a bone...) Anyways, the other sisters will continue to work with them this week.

Today I will have to enjoy the last bit of juice in the Supermarket here. They make the BEST natural juice that´s supppperr cheap. Also, I´ve planned to cut my hair, which will be a relief buece the last time I cut it was over a year ago.... eeiish. Whatever, the mission isn´t a time where I´m trying to look super attractive. ha!

Oh man, so many miracles are happening! Miracles in me! If you are reading this, go directly and read chapter 6 of Preach My Gospel. You will have a desire to repent. But remember repentance is a wonderful gift we have. and you will want to be more like our Savior.
I know he lives and that we are doing his work.

Oh, so news about my hands- they started feeling better, so I stopped taking that anti-inflammatory medicine. Mistake. But when I called Sister Genaro to tell her what was going on, she talked to the Missionary doctor and prescribed me to take ibprofin every 8 hours. Kind of annoying, but at least they feel fine now. I don´t know what happened, but I´m just grateful that I´m ok. The problem is that not only was I hurting, but both my companions. and Just about every other Sister that has worked here in Tupã. Like for reals, every sister that has passed through here has had some kind of problem. The 24 hour clinic, the UPA is TIRED of seeing missionaries. But do you know what? We just keep going, and trusting in miracles.

Love ya all!!!

Tupã...

Hey family and friends!!!!! How are you? Enjoying the chilly air? Do a favor for me, check the weather where I´m at! It´s over 100 like every day this week! Ha! When I got here in Tupã, my companions told me that the difenition of Tupã is “the city of the sun.” Of course they were just joking, but it doesn´t feel like it. Anyways…. I´m doing well. We live in a house here, so that´s kind of different.

The branch is nice, but really small.... I´m playing the piano like always for sacrament meeting.
My companions are hilarious!!!

Not a whole lot happened this week- we are struggling to find new investigators, but I have faith.   Faith+Works+Desire = Baptism!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We´re going to get there...  :)

Ok this week was PAINFUL!!!! I started developing a stinging pain in both my wrists. it startes in my fingers and worked it´s way to my wrists... I also felt it in both my feet and my knees, but the wrists were the worst part. I started feeling the pain this past tuesday, and today I am starting to feel a little bit better. It came to the point where I coulnd´t touch ANYTHING! I couldn´t open the fridge, put on my nametag, do my hair... It hurt to go to the bathroom or take a shower. Little, easy things, I had to ask my companions to do for me. So on Thursday, we went to the 24 hour medical clinic and the doctor basically told me that he had NO IDEA what was wrong with me. so he gave me some medicine that reduced the swelling, and I a still taking this medicine today... Thank goodness it is getting better...

Anyways, I love ya all!!! Out of time! The Lord takes care of us, This I am sure!

FAMILY- Isn´t it about... TIME?

Isn´t it about time? So Tyler, congratulations! 2 transfers at home! (are you still counting time in transferências?) Tanner, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I can´t beleive you are entering the MTC this WEEK!!!!!!!!!!! And to everyone, It is crazy that I´ve been on the mission for exactly 11 months today! Wow- how time passes....

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!! I´M BEING TRANSFERRED!!! Ok, for you, this doesn´t mean much, but for me, my world is changing!!!!! I´m going to a city here in São Paulo called Tupã.  And guess what? I´m going to be in a trio. Again. Don´t get me wrong, I loved it last time, but I´m not really in the mood right now.... oh well.... tranferencias are of the lord, so I need to be receptive.

This week was alright. I´m sad to leave presidente Prudente. It´s going to be hard to find a place as special as this here... I´m sad to leave my companion.  Love her tons. On the birght side, I´m going to have 2 new Brazilian companions, so hopefully I´ll start actually learning portuguese.... and pronunciation and all... haha! But at least now, I know "if youré happy and you know it", "I am a child of God" And a random kitchen utensil song in spanish...

ok GENERAL CONFERENCE WAS SUPPPPERR GOOD!!!! I watched the first 2 sessions in English, and Sunday, I watched in Portugues, which was super awesome because we got to listen to that one Brazilian elder. It was super awesome, and everyone loved listening to a talk where they can see and hear the expression of the ACTUAL speaker. It makes a big difference. I loved that talks about which way do you face, and the one (German?) elder who spoke VERY frankly. but honestly. WONDERFUL!!!
And then I absolutly LOVEDDDDDDDDD with all my heart Elder David A Bednar´s talk. I laughed so hard..... :D but unfortuently, we didn´t have any investigators at that particualar session. oh well...

Hope you are all doing wonderful!!!! LOVE YOU ALLLLLL!!!!!!
Sister Eliason

I forgot, I got to hold a parrot this week. It was AWESOME! My comp took a photo, but it´s on her camera.... I´ll send it later.
LOVE YA!!!!! THE CHurCH IS TRUE!!!!
